Q&A
1. What made you start this business?
I am from Germany and am working out with EMS since 12 years now. When I came to LA in 2018 for a longer stay I wanted to go on with my typical (EMS) routine, but couldn't find a studio that offered it. So I thought I really should bring it here to show Americans all the benefits that come with EMS workout. I had the feeling that Americans were really missing out on something amazing.
2. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am very passionate about everything related to health and fitness. Due to my own medical/health history, I noticed how important exercise is to stay fit and healthy, especially when we age. And one of the most important factors in healthy aging is how much muscle mass we have. The more muscle mass the stronger and healthier we age. It is also crucial for longevity.
3. What is EMS?
EMS is a highly effective workout with one 20-minute EMS session equaling a 3 to 4-hour intensive workout in the gym. It works with electrical impulse which stimulates the muscle to contract up to 85 times in a second and penetrates the muscle fiber up to 90% - compared to traditional workout that only penetrates 40-50% of muscle fiber. This means more muscle is being activated during a workout with Electrical Muscle Stimulation than it would ever be possible with traditional workout methods.
The technology of EMS originated in physical therapy in the 1960s and has been used in Europe as a workout method since the 1980s. Meanwhile, it has become a huge hit all over the world and I believe that it will be the next big fitness trend in the US with stars like Madonna, Jessica Alba, Chrissy Teigen, and the Kardashians being fans already. Also, professional athletes like Usain Bolt and Mike Tyson have discovered that they can enhance their athletic performances through EMS.
4. How does EMS work?
You wear a specific EMS workout attire plus a vest and straps and get wired with EMS machine, which can be adjusted to every single person individually. Therefore EMS is suitable for all age groups and fitness levels. A certified EMS trainer supervises the 20 minute workout and guides you through the training. We make sure that every customer has the right intensity level of the impulses and the right posture during the session.
5. Why do you think this is such a good form of exercise?
The EMS machines are FDA cleared and absolutely safe. There is no pain during the workout. You feel the electrical impulse as a sensation in your body, and depending on how much you tolerate we either increase or decrease the intensity.
The sessions are only 20 minutes each, so EMS workout is time efficient and fits into a busy schedule. With only one or two 20 minute sessions a week, you can reclaim your health and fitness, while conveniently toning your body, losing weight, and building muscle.

6. What’s a recommended EMS schedule?
Depending on your goals and fitness level I recommend 1 or 2 sessions per week. Every session is 20 minutes, so you don't need more than 30 minutes to be in and out.
The first session is a bit different though, as we take time to get to know the customer and learn about their needs and goals. Then we explain how the machine works and what to expect. After all of this, we start the actual first session, which is not 20 but only 12 minutes long because the body needs to acclimate to this new kind of workout.
As we have three EMS machines it is possible to do the sessions with friends or family members, which is another big plus. After all, we are motivated when we workout with a loved one.
7. Who is this form of exercise recommended for?
This workout is absolutely suitable and recommended for adults of all age groups and fitness levels, who want to enhance their health and at the same time tone their body.
8. How long does it take to see results?
Everybody is different, but some people start noticing a difference in their body shape and strength after as little as 4 weeks. Other people need anywhere between 6-12 weeks.
